What Is In-Person Sales (IPS)?
In-person sales, or IPS, is a reveal-and-sell session where a photographer sits with a client and sells prints on the spot, rather than emailing a gallery.
In-person sales, commonly shortened to IPS, describes a sales session where the photographer sits with the client, either in the studio or over a video call, and walks through a gallery to sell prints live.
It's common in portrait, family and school photography because average order value tends to run higher than when a client browses and buys a gallery alone, unguided.
Frequently asked questions
Does IPS need special software?
No — the same gallery and price sheet used for online sales works for an in-person session; the photographer is simply present to guide the decision.
